Ivor Biggun VS I Break Things VS mrsmes + Smessy’s “virus” returns

First off for today, we’re revisiting an old gem of a forum topic, started by the smes himself as the argument within turns into a threesome.
But not that kind of threesome.
… in the Forum Topic “How well do you know your ram(computer speed)?” …
mrsmes wrote:
“nope it just requires a Binary format to drag the shortcuts on to the dock, and because it is from a shortcut instead of the temp file so, yes $pecter and I got it right and $pecter knows Binary and YouTube, does teach lessons on Programming in videos.”
Ivor Biggun wrote:
“Mrsmes, what has that got to do with a DLL?
Mrsmes, what is a DLL? How do you make one?
I dont think you know the answer do you?”
mrsmes wrote:
“it requires code, and secondly it’s a dynamic link library, and can be made in almost any language varying from VBS(Visual Basic) Blitz Basic, to Binary, C, C++.
But there is no exact formula for making a DLL, it depends on the purpose and usage of the DLL, and it’s commands and functions for the application it works with and is run by.”
Ivor Biggun wrote:
“Very good Mrsmes. I would like to know where you copied that from. Firstly in the space of one post your punctuation, use of paragraphs and spelling has become perfect. Its blatantly obvious youve copied that from somewhere.
I wont argue that point, as its obvious to anyone who has read more than one of your posts.
Ok, mrsmes. Are you writing a DLL of your own? Since the HAWKS DOCK has been completely re-written by Spectre, you cant now claim that you wrote it.
Mrsmes, I say again I would like to see you learn things properly. According to Ultisoft, you are an expert C++ programmer. Why does he think that? I urge you to get yourself a book and learn things properly. You wont be distracted then with theories of mind reading chips, virus’s that steal your wallet and Microsoft trying to destroy the world with a misile, these ideas are not healthy and hamper any progress you could make if you spent the time instead actually learning things.”

About the Ram: I only Got 760 MB of ram on my other computer is 2 GB.

“Hi DT, its been a while.
Ive been having a chat on another thread about languages. Have you looked at Python? Its cross platform and very simple. Ive used it myself in the past to make a simple IRC client/bot.”
WhoKnew wrote:
“Haha, I can’t help but giggle when I read this.
@Ivor
As cruel as it may sound I suggest you give up. It’s hard to convince someone to change their ways, especially over the internet. Just let mrsmes live in his world. The best thing we can do is accept him as he is. It’s not like he’s going to leave anytime soon anyways.
Besides, his posts usually provide comic relief.”
I Break Things wrote:
“It’s a brick talking to a wall. Neither of you are completely interpreting the other and adding insult where you ought be adding explanations. Looking back at post one, I believe Mr Smes has a cool little topic to talk about. We refer to one MB as 1,000 KB as 1,000 Bytes, when it’s a little larger. So, how much ram do we actually have, and ergo how quickly is our computer computing? And on top of that, how much do we actually need? Didn’t take long to get off topic though. So, if you two are done trying to murder one another, why not discuss what was introduced?”
Niik wrote:
“OK, then
My laptop has 4 Gig of RAM, but I have honestly no idea whether that’s 1024 Meg or just 1000 Meg. So the original topic was actually quite valid.
I Break Things wrote:
“And on top of that, how much do we actually need?”
I think I need all of what I’ve got.
How much you need really depends on what you’re doiong with it though. I would expect that the trajectory calculatings computers at NASA to be much faster than anything I could ever need.
Also, need is very specific. It’d be great to have a few terabytes of RAM. rendering would be done in seconds. However, I don’t think I could ever reasonably say I needed that much.”

Now listen. If stopping someone from posting incorrect theories and misleading people is wrong, then I am guilty. The type of posts Mrsmes writes misleads some people into believing his wild ideas.
Now before you start off an a rant like him. Consider I code for a living (recently in a GNU C environment. If you check back on previous posts you will find why I post here. You claim Mrsmes has a good topic why didnt you quote the real figures?:
1024 bytes in 1k
1024 kb in a mb
1024 mb in 1gig
If you didnt even know that, no wonder you like a Mrsmes topic.
I believe that there are many intelligent tallented people here, I have talked to many of them. Many of them I honestly believe will go on to make great careers in the programming world. These people are sensible, interesting and creative. They do not need wild theories interupting their discussions and hampering their progress.
Whilst you are agreeing with Mrsmes, do you also agree with Mrsmes theory that Microsoft are wanting to destroy the world? what about the virus that steals your wallet? What about the mind reading chip? Or what about the computer where you ask it to make a game for you and its AI creates the game for you?
I am not trying to “murder” anyone (take a look at other people who try to stop these posts of his) I am trying to help him. I am trying to get him to start again and learn things properly.
I think you missed Mrsmes point. Did you not read on this thread Mrsmes claiming a 1bit computer is faster? Maybe you missed that or you wouldnt have posted what you did.
“I break things” If you find the ethos of Mrsmes’s topic interesting, how about I run a thread just for you in regards to CPU instruction sets, asm and a few other low-level concepts? Id be more than happy to if you’d like. We could start off (since the 1bit comment seems to have sparked your interest) with a topic of Z80 emulation and its implimentation within a Gnome environment? (I appologise its an 8bit CPU and not 1, but hey, whos perfect?
I look forward to discussing the nuances of low-level coding.”
mrsmes wrote:
“and just to show dumb Bill Gates looks especially in his office, and when do singing any more of it would be a toxic nightmare, here is a video on it so I can assure you Bill Gates is not perfect here is a video from YouTube: Bill gates last day at office make fun of himself UnCUT!!!
Link: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=tKEgINHXQds
Look at the fool, make him look stupid and dumb, I wish some one, really did egg him on that day or pie him or both.”
[sigh.]
Ivor Biggun wrote:
“Mrsmes, if you believe that the video on youtube is just Bill making fun of himself, then you’ve failed to understand marketing.
To me that video is very good. Bill Gates stepping down from Microsoft could have meant a crash in the stock price as investors loose confidence in the company that is officially not under the watchful eye of Bill Gates.
By having this video it is saying that Microsoft will run just as well without him, and its a way to keep stock value. IMO
Bill Gates isnt really this stupid, he became one of the richest people on the planet for crying out loud, and if stupid people could become that rich, there would be alot more rich people about
“
mrsmes wrote:
“understood, but the way he makes himself look so dumb, y would he do that?
and I don’t believe that it is making fun of Bill, I just think that’s it very dumb, and y he would try to appear stupid is just dumb, and I fully understand marketing quite very well to almost every detail.”
[he did not understand.]
Ivor Biggun wrote:
“I explained, but I will do so again. Bill still has investment with Microsoft, he doesnt want his share value to go down. It is possible that investors may get frightened by the fact they believe MS cannot run without Bill gates, so this video is released as a PR stunt to show MS will run just as well without him. Hopefully stoping any investors getting worried.”
mrsmes wrote:
“i wonder… it doesn’t add up.”
[Yes, because Bill Gates is evil and everyone knows it. >_>]
I Break Things wrote:
“Quotes in quotation marks. The quote tool didn’t work.
“Now listen. If stopping someone from posting incorrect theories and misleading people is wrong, then I am guilty. The type of posts Mrsmes writes misleads some people into believing his wild ideas.”
His original post, as I previously stated, was neither a “wild theory” or “misleading information.” You watched the movie and therefor you should know yourself.
“Now before you start off an a rant like him. Consider I code for a living (recently in a GNU C environment. If you check back on previous posts you will find why I post here. You claim Mrsmes has a good topic why didnt you quote the real figures?:”
Now, I wasn’t ranting. I happen to like the idea of this post, and would simply prefer not having one long argument strewn across it’s contents. I can see this isn’t going to happen, because you two seem to be arch rivals, but it’s a nice thought! Now, I also wouldn’t care if you built homes for the poor or are fluent in nearly every language (coding or otherwise) on earth. It’s irrelevant.
“1024 bytes in 1k
1024 kb in a mb
1024 mb in 1gig”
My answer to this ought to be a list of words you misspell. It’s irrelevant, but is an argument based on the same concept. It was a mistake. My bad. The important thing is that you know, which means were both on the same level here.
“If you didnt even know that, no wonder you like a Mrsmes topic.”
Guess that covers this too. I would like to add to this that this is a test of my overall knowledge, and that of Mrsmes. I was informed as to what this topic was about, understood it’s concept. I mix up a few numbers and am suddenly insane and mentally deficient. I can see why everyone is arguing on here. it’s not for the sake of correction, it’s for cheap shots.
“I believe that there are many intelligent tallented people here, I have talked to many of them. Many of them I honestly believe will go on to make great careers in the programming world. These people are sensible, interesting and creative. They do not need wild theories interupting their discussions and hampering their progress.”
Again with the wild theories stuff. How hard is it to understand what you just corrected me on? or are you referring to the newer posts resulting in off topic conversation? If so, the one bit server idea was presented by him as a Myth, if you will take the time to read what he said. You said he was wrong and he wouldn’t understand if you explained it. Hurry, go look it up on Google and explain it, for Pete’s sake. Arguing for the sake of correction, indeed!
“Whilst you are agreeing with Mrsmes, do you also agree with Mrsmes theory that Microsoft are wanting to destroy the world? what about the virus that steals your wallet? What about the mind reading chip? Or what about the computer where you ask it to make a game for you and its AI creates the game for you?”
Now, I don’t agree with Mrsmes, I simply disagree that everything he said is moronic, as you claim. I also stated that I felt it would be a good idea to get back on topic. And, on top of that, I don’t believe that there’s a chip that steals money or any of that nonsense.
“I am not trying to “murder” anyone (take a look at other people who try to stop these posts of his) I am trying to help him. I am trying to get him to start again and learn things properly.”
You aren’t helping, you’re mocking. You aren’t helping him “learn things properly,” you are calling him stupid, among other things.
“I think you missed Mrsmes point. Did you not read on this thread Mrsmes claiming a 1bit computer is faster? Maybe you missed that or you wouldnt have posted what you did.”
No, I didn’t read an entirely different thread posted months ago about the idea that I never even addressed. I posted what I did because I felt that his ORIGINAL SUBJECT was interesting.
“”I break things” If you find the ethos of Mrsmes’s topic interesting, how about I run a thread just for you in regards to CPU instruction sets, asm and a few other low-level concepts? And now, I’m mad.I don’t GIVE a crap about 1 bit servers. Had you completely interpreted my post CORRECTLY, you would revise I also didn’t give a crap about 1-bit servers then, either! And should YOU need help, I can host a seminar on the basics of human communication adn interpretation. Maybe then you’ll be a better listener, and then a better speaker. And by the way, as for the nuances of low level coding, you don’t want to go their. I can program a TI-83, hold my own in GML, and am learning flash CS3. Your apparent mastery over coding languages doesn’t impress me, especially since I know something of the actual construction of the computer you are reading this on, on the snap in place scale and on the soldering scale.
OK, My current computer has 2 Gigs of ram, so that could actually be 2,048 Megabytes. Not much better. I think my machine needs all of it, however. Most programs I have recommend 1 gig, and I like a little wiggle room for unexpected complications. I agree with Niik, a Terabyte of ram would be wicked. That is, If i could find a use for it…”

I’d facepalm to the smes comment. If you have Unlocker Assistant, you can delete files that are in use

Just seen the replies he made. Thanks AKH.
He is now “owned”. Unfortunately when trying to challenge me he lacked one thing. Knowledge. Please see the thread and find out!
He’d like 1tb of ram? Unfortunately Windows cant address that much. A 1st year student could tell you that.
How well does he know his ram/computer speed? Not very well Id suggest.
